# Gravel: The small stuff, handled.

> Gravel is a personal AI assistant that lives in WhatsApp and Telegram, with iMessage coming. It keeps an eye on your email and calendar, texts you first when something needs you, and takes care of it when you say yes.

Gravel is a proactive personal AI assistant that lives in the messaging apps people already use: WhatsApp and Telegram, with iMessage coming. It reads the email and calendars you connect (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud and more), notices what needs you, like a meeting that moved, a bill that went up or a reply someone is waiting for, and texts you first. When you say yes, it handles it and tells you when it's done. You choose how much it may do on its own, it keeps quiet hours, and your data is encrypted with a key that belongs to your account and hosted in the EU. Gravel is built in Munich, Germany, is planned at €12 a month and is opening in early access.

## What it does

- **Texts you first.** Reads your mail and calendar, notices what needs you, and messages you before it becomes a problem: a meeting that moved, a bill that went up, a reply someone is waiting for.
- **One yes, and it's handled.** Before it acts, it tells you exactly what it will do. One yes covers the whole plan, like cancelling one appointment, booking another and updating your calendar.
- **Autonomy you choose.** For each kind of action you pick one of four levels: just do it, only when I ask, ask me first, or hand it to me. It starts read-only and asks for more access the first time it needs it.
- **Memory you control.** It remembers your preferences, people and plans. Ask “what do you know about me?” to see it all, and tell it to forget anything.
- **Quiet hours and a morning brief.** Quiet from 10 PM to 7:30 AM by default, at most a few unprompted messages a day, and anything that can wait goes into a short morning brief.
- **Drafts in your voice.** Drafts replies the way you write, and sends them from your own mailbox when you say send.
- **Pause anytime.** Text “pause” and all background work stops until you say so.

## What it never does

- It never phones businesses or people on your behalf.
- It always presents itself as an AI, never as a person.
- It never trains AI models on your data.

- **Messaging apps:** WhatsApp and Telegram, with iMessage coming. Nothing new to install.
- **Email:** Gmail, Outlook, iCloud Mail, GMX, WEB.DE, T-Online, freenet, mailbox.org, Posteo, other IMAP mailboxes.
- **Calendars:** Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, iCloud Calendar, any CalDAV calendar.

## Examples

- **Rebooks a delayed flight.** Gravel spots a 2-hour delay, offers an earlier United flight, you say do it, and it switches you to an aisle seat.
- **Gets your bill back down.** Gravel notices your internet bill went up, asks for the loyalty rate, and gets you $60 a month for a year.
- **Books dinner for four.** You ask for an Italian table for four on Friday, Gravel offers two places, books one and invites your friends.
- **Remembers Mom’s birthday.** Gravel reminds you of Mom's birthday, suggests last year's favorite gift, and orders it with a card.
- **Finds a plumber today.** You text that the sink is leaking, Gravel finds two well-rated plumbers for today and books one.
- **Handles the permission slip.** Gravel fills in a school permission slip, you say send, and it puts the trip on your calendar.

## Privacy

- Your data is encrypted with a key that belongs to your account only.
- Gravel is hosted and processed in the EU.
- If a person ever has to look, for example because you asked support for help, it's written to your activity log before they can.
- Export all your data with a one-time link. Delete your account and your key is destroyed, so nothing left can be read.
- Gravel does not train AI models on your data, and neither do its providers.

### What does Gravel actually do?

### Will it do things without asking me?

### Which apps does it work with?
